Every bullet on your resume should start with a verb. Not 'Responsible for managing...' or 'Was involved in...' — but a strong, specific action verb that immediately communicates what you did. The verb sets the tone for the entire bullet. Choose the wrong one and your impact gets buried.
The most overused resume verb is 'managed.' The second is 'responsible for.' Both are weak because they describe a role, not an action or an outcome.
Leadership & Management

How to Use These Effectively
A strong action verb is necessary but not sufficient. The full formula for a great bullet is: [Strong Verb] + [What You Did] + [Quantified Result or Scale]. 'Reduced API latency by 40% for a 5M-user platform' lands harder than 'Improved API performance.' The verb starts the punch; the number lands it.
Quick rule of thumb
If you can replace your verb with 'was responsible for' without changing the meaning, find a stronger verb. 'Responsible for managing...' ≈ 'managed' — both are weak. 'Spearheaded the migration of...' cannot be replaced. That's the bar.
